By that same note mortalking, is it un-ethical to fight and kill people while in military service to your country? And, what about if someone broke into your house, would it be wrong to kill them? Even if killing them was the only method for preserving your life or the life of your loved ones? It's a bit of an extreme example, but the idea is that of difference in how things are because of the situation to which they are applied.
