Re: Chernobyl......

The Only known virus that actually causes hardware damage, in that it destroys the hard

drive, and the active strain flashes the BIOS, as well.
Targets Win98 machines only; it is a Win95/98 specific parasitic virus infecting Windows PE (Portable Executable), and about 1 kb in length.
 
Ver. 1.4 attacks on the 26th of every month
Ver. 1.2 attacks on April 26th
Ver. 1.3 attacks on June 26th

Was first triggered April 26, 1999- the 13th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident in Russia.

Users of Windows NT, 2000, or Macintosh are not considered to be at risk.
