I've noticed that part of the material covered in module 1 of the official courseware and also the CEH exam prep book that I have covers specific US federal laws.

Seeing as I am not a citizen of the USA, and am not familiar with the legal system there, I was wondering to what extent these laws are asked about in the actual exam?  Huh While I have no problems with the USA in general or with learning these laws for the sake of passing the exam, I would much rather learn the specific laws regarding my own country. I know that EC-Council can't incorporate the specific laws of all the countries in the world, but including the relevant laws of countries such as England, France, Germany, Australia, etc, would make the material and exam more cosmopolitan, and less USA-centric.

As far as I remember, (I did the exam in Dec. 04) there were NO questions regarding the federal laws on the exams (I didn't pass until the third time; 125 questions on the exam, $250.00 a pop for each exam) I took. Same questions on each exam, but in different order. Many questions were regarding programming, inlcuding code snippets of C/C++. I am the world's WORST programmer; translation: I SUCK at programming. I did have a question regarding URL De-obfuscation that was NOT covered in my class. But most of the questions were on programming; buffer overflows, that kind of thing.

I don't know about the laws in your country, but EC-Council while based in New York, seems to do about half of their business overseas; anything you buy from them comes from India, Singapore, that area. They just MIGHT have a presence in your area. can't hurt to look into it and see.
