Huh If you had to have you ultimate computer, what brand and type would it be? (price is not a factor )
Mine would be an Alienware laptop, with a core 2 duo and WinXP

Remember when you buy an Alienware you are really buying a Dell.

If price is not a factor, neither would be quantity. Not one computer would tick all the boxes.

If I wanted to plop down cash on a gaming comp I'd either A build it myself, or B go for... mabey a Voodoo to try them out.  I dont' trust Alienware now that they are connected with Dell.  My office is a dell office and Dells are pieces of cr4p.  This year statically 1 to 2 in 10 dells come broken out of the box.  This is out of a grouping of 110 new computers this year.  We had 16 or so crap new ones that had bad components right out of the box.

I'm fairly pleased with my little baby right now.  I picked up the Asus F3KA that's AMD based with 2.0 gig processor, 3 gigs of ram now, and a 512 dedicated Graphics card.  That with an Atheros wifi, dual booting Ubuntu/XP.

even though it may be a Dell, Alienware PCs tend to ship with the least amount of crapware.
