I disagree with them even HAVING a Mardi Gras. Do they have all the levees upgraded to withstand a Cat 5? If not, they shouldn't have a Mardi Gras; they should take all the money they use to put on Mardi Gras and make sure the levees don't fail again. In my opinion, that's more important than wasting time, energy and mon-ay to have fun, when they have more important places to put all that mon-ay.

Don't you think that tourism is the only way a dead city can get money to rebuild besides government assistance? Plus, if anyone needs to let off a little steam, it's the gulf coast.
