LOL  Definately do not worry about getting spammed.  I actually don't remember ever receiving anything from EH-Net, but would like to...

We have an issue with the content
Is the content issue one of accuracy, or ethics (aka "stupidity, or danger")?

I came here from slashdot to read the article. I got to read it before it "disappeared". It was good although some of it was the same old, same old and I did notice a couple of mistakes.  The best part of the article was the idea of running nmap scans against a simple windows firewall and noting the results. He was actually trying to get people to use nmap instead of just reading about it and thats cool. It looked like to me that some dude named "professor I will sell you the secrets of nmap for $197 messer" got pissy about a chart being used that was similar to the one he has in his book he is selling so the article got pulled. I hope people here are not dumb enough to actually buy a course on nmap!  Just go and download it and practice. There are so many good free tuts out there.

I would like to demonstrate in FAVOUR of Kev. I really enjoyed the article, just as I enjoy reading his posts here. His real life experience is second to none and gives a new dimension and aspect at looking at the topics discussed here, and he has been a very worthy winner of some of the prizes here.

I am in favour of having this article reinstated together with whatever disclaimer that each of the parties feel is relevant for each to get their due credit, and still retain their rights.

Finally I am most offended that Kevs member account here has been suspended/deleted. I do not feel that this issue is worthy off banning Kev or for him to have deleted his account on his own. I publicly call for Kevs account to be reinstated/reactivated, and I ask other members here to join me!!! Kev, please come back, you've been missed over the past 2 weeks.

i was at chicon with Don and i told him Kevs account was no longer active or deleted, it was news to him.  So if someone deleted Kev's account it was probably Kev.

Just to clear the record, as Chris stated, I did not suspend Kev's account. Concentrating on ChicagoCon, I didn't realise it until Chris told me. So during the event, I personally called Kev as well as emailed him asking him to please stay with our community. Kev has been and I hope will continue to be a very valuable member of EH-Net.

More than you know, EH-Net has dealt with similar issues in the past. Kev was informed every step along the way. The decision was agreed to by all parties involved. It was also agreed that we would take the discussion off-board as to not start any unnecessary conflicts. I do ask for your understanding about the article, and, in the interest of those involved, let this issue go.

Kev is a very proud and respectful man, so let's just focus on the positive. He is missed, and it is my sincere desire that his absence is merely a hiatus and not a permanent decision.
