I hope it doesn't use Beryl... I prefer the least memory hogging, but still palatable, gui I can find. Wink  Beryl looks great, but for 'work' I like to have my machine as fast as possible.

Well, I have it going off of a thumbdrive right now... not bad.  It also has Flux graphics mode, and KDE.  Nothing too big with the changes, though it does seem they included some better graphics/network card drivers in this version, so it works on some machines BT2 didn't.  Other than that, nothing that's really jumped out at me thus far.

I just downloaded the cd version and have found it really buggy as far as my Senao NL-2500 and orinoco wifi cards go, which both worked great with Backtrack 2.  I will try the 1 gig version next and see if its any better. So far I would say to hold on to your Backtrack 2 until they get through the beta version.

You should check out BackTrack's forum and post your hardware problems on there.  I think they want some feedback from the community with problems such as the ones you are having.

I had a problem loading the CD version in virtual box so I guess I'll have to burn it to a CD since my USB drive is only 512mb Sad.

Hello everyone. I am -=Xploitz=- from
Code:
forums.remote-exploit.org

If anyone is having ANY Software or Hardware issues we have put up 3 or 4 new forms at our website to deal with these issues directly. If you download  BT3, I suggest you download our DVD / USB version instead of the CD and install it onto your Hard drive. ;)Why? It has more new cool graphical soft and features like compiz, so you can get the "true feel" of BT3.

BackTrack 3 Beta USB version (946 mb)

Feel free to sign up and post any questions or post any issues / bugs to any of my team on the BT3 Forums.  Hopefully by March or earlier we will be ready to release a completely "Bug free" BT3 FINAL. Cool

We appreciate you guys support here at ethicalhacker.net.

When you get there, tell em' -=Xploitz=- sent ya.  Wink

Just finished matching 1 great product with another....the ASUS EEE PC and BT3 Beta. As usual, the developers at Remote Exploit have done a fantastic job with their new product, and I look forward to the final version of BT3.
