I just downloaded the cd version and have found it really buggy as far as my Senao NL-2500 and orinoco wifi cards go, which both worked great with Backtrack 2. I will try the 1 gig version next and see if its any better. So far I would say to hold on to your Backtrack 2 until they get through the beta version.
You should check out BackTrack's forum and post your hardware problems on there. I think they want some feedback from the community with problems such as the ones you are having.
I had a problem loading the CD version in virtual box so I guess I'll have to burn it to a CD since my USB drive is only 512mb

Hello everyone. I am -=Xploitz=- from
forums.remote-exploit.org
If anyone is having
ANY Software or Hardware issues we have put up 3 or 4 new forms at our website to deal with these issues directly. If you download BT3, I suggest you download our DVD / USB version instead of the CD and install it onto your Hard drive. ;)Why? It has more new cool graphical soft and features like compiz, so you can get the "true feel" of BT3.
BackTrack 3 Beta USB version (946 mb)
