Okay, so I've been trying to install BackTrack (or any operating system) on this laptop (HP zv 6000) for a day or two now. My problem: the cd-rom drive doesn't work. I've managed to turn the LiveCd into a LiveUSB, and I can successfully boot up from there. However, I can't manage to install to my hard disk. I think I have some old ubuntu files that are in the way. I've tried following the guides on both the backtrack webpage and wiki with no success. The built-in gui install inside of KDE doesn't seem to work either. Any suggestions?
