I was searching around today and came across a Linux security distribution you might like to check out:

http://www.damnvulnerablelinux.org/

You can even check out a video introduction here:

https://www.damnvulnerablelinux.org/content/view/22/27/

According to the website DVL "is collection of IT-Security tools. Additional it includes a fullscaled lesson based environment for Attack & Defense on/for IT systems for self-study or teaching activities during university lectures.

Its sole purpose in life is to put as many security tools at your disposal with as much training options as it can. It contains a huge ammount of lessons including lesson description - and solutions if the level has been solved by a community member at crackmes.de."

I just downloaded it and I will be checking it out later.  All in all though it sounds like a great tool for new comers to security and even professionals.  If anyone who has had a lot of experience in the field checks this out please let me know what you think of it.

Thank you for bringing this up.  I had just started using backtrack2, and this is that, plus more.  I love DVL.  It is by far the best tool I've seen.  With the addition of webgoat, it is amazing.  Thanks for giving the link!

Well I am glad you like it.  I still have not had a chance to check it out myself with all the overtime I have been working, hopefully I will get to it soon.

Please let me know of any other cool features you might find that you would recommend checking out.
