Here's a little write-up I did on Network World:

As always, feel free to digg it!  Wink

With 2 of the 11 boot camps featuring Cisco certification courses (CCNA and SNPA), and 2 additional courses instructed by Cisco Press authors, the world leader in networking is well represented at ChicagoCon 2007 where "White Hats Come Together in Defense of the Digital Frontier" from Sept 17 - 23, 2007.

Learning and practical experience are the hallmarks of this event, and ChicagoCon 2007 is fully prepared for the students to hit the ground running. With a plush 180-seat, stadium-style auditorium for the keynotes and evening presentations, the facilities also have separate classrooms with computers and the courseware provided for the students, whiteboards and projectors for the instructors, as well as meeting space and lounge areas for all to eat, study and network with colleagues. And with the exams being provided on site, there is every reason to believe that all students will go home with an industry recognized credential in hand. When all is said and done, the students will be exhausted not from simply sitting and listening but rather gaining real, hands-on skills. All participants will leave Chicago feeling fully satisfied with the investment made in themselves and their company.

Brian D'Andrea, who is heading up the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) class, has worked for Hewlett Packard as the Senior Advanced Configuration Specialist and Team Lead. As a consultant Brian also was a Senior Support Specialist for Customer Premise Equipment for FIRSTUSA Bank, Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania, and University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Over the past 4 years, Brian has been instructing students on the knowledge to start new careers as Computer & Network support specialist and helping them better their lives.

Then we have Richard Deal tackling SNPA, Securing Network with Cisco PIX and ANA. Richard teaches many classes and has over 15 years of experience in the computing and networking industry, including networking, training, systems administration, and programming. Richard has written the following networking books: CCNP BCMSN Exam Cram 2; CCNA Secrets Revealed!; Cisco PIX Firewalls; CCNP: Remote Access Exam Prep; CCNP: Switching Exam Cram; CCNP: Cisco LAN Switching Configuration; and Cisco Router Firewall Security.

There are plenty of other classes at ChicagoCon such as CISSP, CEH, CHFI, Expert Pen Testing, Web App Hacking, SOX/COBIT, Network+/Security+, Linux+ and PMP. As an example of the quality of our event, our CISSP course is endorsed by (ISC)2 with an (ISC)2 instructor using (ISC)2 course materials. He will prepare you for the on site exam with a practice exam of actual retired CISSP exam questions. You'll never be more prepared.

Instructors for the other courses include Cisco Press authors Steve Kalman handling forensics and Andrew Whitaker with the Certified Ethical Hacker duties. There are many other highly regarded instructors all of whom have posted their bios proudly on the ChicagoCon site for all to see. There's no guessing on who will be teaching your course.

But what's a security conference with a single focus? BORING!!

ChicagoCon combines a professional security conference, certification training and a hacker con into a single, unique event. Not just another set of bootcamps, ChicagoCon adds value to your training dollars by providing top instructors, recognized certifications, morning keynotes by industry luminaries John C. Dvorak, Steve Hunt, Lance Spitzner, Symantec, and the DoD, evening presentations by security rsearchers and educators, hacking demos of tools such as Metasploit and Cain & Abel, gift bags containing t-shirts, books, a special edition of BackTrack 2 (a security Linux distro) on CD as a VMware Virtual Appliance & more.
