Hey everyone, just wanted to say hi and to introduce myself.

I'm currently a junior in college in a newly started major called Security and Risk Analysis. I was pretty excited when I heard about it, as Penetration Testing is what I'd like to get into. However, so far courses have been more of a "These are the things that you need to worry about" and not "This is how these things work and this is how you defend against them". Thus, I've taken it upon myself to learn about such things.

I found this site through StumbleUpon, and I'm highly impressed. From what I've seen, it's a great community, with great information, especially the info about the actual job field/certifications. I'm still perusing the boards for information, but rest assured that if I have any questions that I cannot find the answer to, you will be among the first people I ask  Grin

That's all for now, I just wanted to say "Hi" and congratulate you all on a great site!

Welcome to EH-Net. Thanks for the intro. That must be very exciting to be on the ground floor of a new degree program... especially at such a great school. Go Nittany Lions!!

As with any subject in a degree program, you have to unfortunately go through the "why" before the "how." I think it's actually a test that they purposely put you through to make sure you have the wherewithall to make it to the last year and a half before they start getting to the good stuff.

Which is why you are here... to get the good stuff now. Hopefully we can help, and you'll spread the word of EH-Net.

Looking forward to your questions and participation,
Don
