Dear All,
I have just passed the CISSP last month(MCSE & 6 yrs exp in sys admin) and woulid like to move to the career path as security consultant.I am planning to migrate to US next year. What are some serious certification / job profiles in security in US particularly and what do you think , which career path should i choose to be a successful security consultant.
1)Shall i go for CEH or GIAC?
2)what are the job prospects of CISSP / CEH in US ?
3)I am planning to do CEH v5 by self study. Is it valid or do i need to go for a training ?
Its my starting in the security field , so pls help.
Thanking you in advance.
Regards

Hello Harrysgm,
Getting security qualifications help, but I'd start by working out what type of company and industry you'd want to work in first. Check out the US job web sites and you may want to talk to local recruitment companies that have US offices, to get some ideas.
By looking around the job market for the type of qualifications and experience that type of role you want to have, then you can focus your studying/training on those requirements.
That will help nailed down the best training options for you to go for the job you want.

u have passed CISSP !!!
Did you pass all the domains ?
Well regarding certifications there's MSS from EC-Council.
You can think about it.

Take care !

CISSP certification ought to set you in good stead for finding a job in information security. It's a good, broad qualification and you should try to build on it with practical experience. Look at the current job market, try to get a feel for the area you would like to specialise in and maybe consider a certification in that field.
Regards,
Jim
