Well, I have never bought RAM before, I just have had friends with some laying around. Can you give me a URL to what you were talking about?

I noticed that a review said one stopped working after two days, another said it needed heatsinks....i am thinking about getting one 512mb stick and using it and my 256, then upgrading from there later.

OK-I have a gig (from Corsair) in the mail. Where do I get VMware or something like it for free? And does it run in Linux?

here is an article I did on using virtual machines to keep ethical hacker skills honed, maybe you might find this useful as examples of how I use virtual machines (I noticed many mentions of virtual pc, vmware, and xen...but there is also the free qemu and others too)  You read the article, you will understand why I included all the information and resources.
