BackTrack 2 Final Released
«
on:
March 07, 2007, 12:02:54 AM »
EH-Net and its readers are big fans of this linux distro for ethical hackers. And as of March 6, 2007, the stable/final release of BackTrack v2 is available from Remote Exploit at its mirrors. Just in case:
Quote
BackTrack is the most Top rated linux live distribution focused on penetration testing. With no installation whatsoever, the analysis platform is started directly from the CD-Rom and is fully accessible within minutes.
It's evolved from the merge of the two wide spread distributions Whax and Auditor Security Collection. By joining forces and replacing these distribution the BackTrack could gain a massive popularity and was voted in 2006 as #1 at the surveil of insecure.org. Security professionals as well as new-comers are using it as their favorite toolset all over the globe.

Time to tar up the old home directory and reinstall. Then, of course, reinstall Nessus and update all the exploit databases. I know what I am doing for the weekend.

Love BT. I just took their offensive security 101 course and must say that it's the best. Really hardcore and it's all hands-on hacking. This Friday I'm taking their offensive security certified professional (OSCP) exam and I hope I'll do well. I heard that it's not easy. I'll write more about the course later in this forum.
