How's this for a teaser:

EH-Net will be sponsoring a little get together for both Black Hat and DefCon attendees on Thursday August 2. Chris is working out the details for us to meet at Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas:

http://www.hofbrauhauslasvegas.com/

If all else fails, I know Chris, Brian Wilson, our Free Giveaway Winner Kev and I will be there having dinner and a few drinks. So why not invite the masses and buy a few drinks for them as well?  Shocked

Stay tuned!

All,

Seems Halvar Flake has been blocked entry into the US for BlackHat and DEFCON.

Updates on his blog:

He will be sorely missed this year !

I extended my stay in Vegas to hit this one too. I originally was going to hit Black Hat and the first day of DefCon, but now I will be there all day Saturday too and leave early on Sunday.

Hope to see you there. PM me if you want to meet up.

You better be there, or you're fired, NERD!!  Wink

It's fun to pretend you have much more power than you really have. A man has to dream, doesn't he?  Roll Eyes

See ya there,

Long time no talk...

How was DEFCON 15?

How receptive are the hackers there to noobs like me trying to learn all I can?

hmmm, i'll say so,so on the how cool people are with n00bs.

its unfortunate that alot of dorks spend so much time trying to prove how much cooler they are than the other dorks in attendance.  its really a shame that the industry/field/people in security act that way.

when you consider that 99% of the planet doesn't give a shit about security, it REALLY becomes silly.

LOL, well said. I think I have finally learned how to tune that part out and just enjoy the experience.

Well, unlike many others then, I take it, I realize I know next to nothing, and therefore would look for a learning experience more than a "my dog is bigger than yours" type experience.

In other words, find someone I can tag along with that doesn't explain everything to me, but does more than just say "do this" and gives no instruction.
