Recently saw a link for an IT masters program at Charles Sturt University in Australia.

The program has various streamincluding a Digital Forensics one. Best of all they allow use of work experience and certifiactions towards the degrees and certificates. They are also a fully certified university with brick and mortar campuses as well.

The 3 streams they have are :


Microsoft 2008 Stream
Digital Forensics Stream
Multi Platform Security Stream


Personally, having been out of college fro over 20 years I am looking at the Graduate certificate. I qualify for admission and it only needs 4 courses to earn. Thankfully 2 of my certs already mean I only need to courses .

This Graduate Certificate incorporates preparation of one or more of the following industry certifications:
The Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) from the GIAC organisation and SANS Institute;
The Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) from the GIAC organisation and SANS Institute;
The Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) cert from the EC Council;
The Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) from the The International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners
The Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®) industry certification exam from the International;
Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)˛);
The Certified Forensics Analyst (GCFA) industry certification from the GIAC organisation and SANS Institute, and
The Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) industry certification from the EC-Council.

That link is very helpful as it has the mapping showing which certs can be used against which course. I have also corresponded with them and found that additional SANS courses can be used as credit, on individual review of the course.

Hope this helps someone else out. I have been looking forever for someone that allowed me credit for the numerous hours studying for the certs I earned.

This doesn't earn SANS certs. 

If you have a SANS cert you can use it against the Uni degree.

You are getting a 2 for 1 if you take a SANS cert. You get the industry recognized cert and can use it towards university 

If you take some of their classes, it does prepare you for writing certain certs.

You would still need to write the cert exam though.

As far as I know, they don't use the actual SANS courseware which would make writing the cert a lot harder, especially since SANS certs are open book.
