Use the intuitive wizard-driven interface of VMware Converter to convert your physical machines to virtual machines. VMware Converter quickly converts Microsoft Windows based physical machines and third party image formats to VMware virtual machines. It also converts virtual machines between VMware platforms. Automate and simplify physical to virtual machine conversions as well as conversions between virtual machine formats with VMware Converter.

Wow, this is awesome. Got to try this out. Good way to create virtual machines of my physical machines for back up.

I did read that and it seems really cool, but is there a restore from BU feature? I can't say that I saw that. At least I didn't see the ability to restore a VM to a Physical Machine.

If you or someone else knows or figures it out, keep us posted.

It would at the least be able to back up individual files and such I suppose. Being that you could transfer them directly or create a shared folder between the two to copy files. At that point, it's not much better than backing up to a CD or some other media.

It would be pretty cool if they do come out with something that can reverse the process and restore a physical machine from a virtual machine.
