when i did my A+,the lecturer drilled it into us that amd is better than intel.
That amd is faster than intel. And i've only seen one built pc with an intel proc.

1 Amd is faster than intel. Untrue. I did a pc-wizard benchmark on our desktop pc. It proved that a HT'd P4 is almost as fast as an AMD 64x2.
intel chips are more OC'able than Amd procs. An extreme edition P4 got and 85% OC, and all the anmd chips were under 50%, according to maximum pc.

2 amd is better quality. Untrue. Intel chips last very long, and they respond well to overheating by slowing down.

however, amd is still cheaper than intel.

p.s., have you heard of amd's phenom chip? It was supposed to be quad-core, but one core was defective and had to be deactivated. The phenom is now being sold as tri-core.

i haven't installed yet. i will in a week.

i have a 733mhz p3 system, with 192mb of 750mhz rdram and a 8.45 gig hard drive. Right now i am downloading xubuntu to install on it. oh yeah, thatt's a 1mbps adsl connection i am operating on now. the os is 688mb and is gonna take about 100min to download. only 6% left now and i'm getting nervous, hoping it's going to make it all the way.

hey dudez, have you heard of the new Macbook air? I've never seen anything like it that can rock and suck at the same time. 0.76 inches in thickness and at 3 pounds, it yet has a 13'' screen and full size keyboard. BUT... 1 usb port 1 headphone port 1mini-dvi port... and that's it HEY!!!!-no optical drive ethernet,printer port, and so many other MISSING things? This is radical.

Reasons not to kill XP.
Vista needs plenty ram.
Vista needs a fast processor.
Vista renders everything in 3d, you'll most likely need a good graphics card.
Therefore, we conclude that;
Vista will kill your wallet,
Vista will kill your hardware,
Vista will kill your trust in windows
(at least for now.)

This is terrible , i mean, xp is microsoft's most stable os at the minute. They don't even have a sp2 for vista yet and they want us to leave the comfort and safety of good ol' xp. Viva la XP revolution!
