Dear Bogwitch, you are having problems using vista because your hardware is outdated. It's important to keep with the times, you know. My laptop uses an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66GHz (dualcore 64-bit) proc. It has 2GB of ram, and a nVidia GeForce 8400 GS with 128MB of GDDR3 and DirectX10. And it runs fast too. I suspect the problem many of you have is insufficient hardware.
iSmith out.

here is my not-so-expert advice. 1 create a batch file that executes your program. be sure to add a line at the end "open media.xxx" to open you media. (this will only appear to work if the person opens the file with the default program.) 2 create a shortcut to the batch file and then edit it's properties so that it has the icon of the appropriate media. note this will not hide the little arrow that is typical of shortcuts.

i have hacked into the secret files and folders of the NTFS file system. check this webpage http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFSI opened the drive in linux, and since Thunar( file manager) wasn't recognizing the folders even when i typed in their names. therefore i used firefox to explore the drive, and upon typing in the names, i was sucessful. among other thing, i saved a copy of the file table ($MFT).it was on a 512mb flash drive and was 6.15mb.
