But you need a job (fresh out of college ) to get the experience that then makes you better! The catch 22 of all new entrants to the workplace.

Im starting my masters in Ethical Hacking in September and I realise that when I get a job after completing it (and the EHC Im going to do as well) that the learning curve will be vertical. But thats where "drive" comes in. My course doesnt have work placement so Im making one for myself and going to get some experience from Cisco Systems (who I intend to work for after Graduation). We all have to start somewhere, though I agree that experience counts for a great deal.

Hi there

Book wise, I highly recommend The Unofficial Guide to Ethical Hacking by Ankit Fadia, superb.

An added bonus with this book it is assumes your stuck with a windows OS and so you can learn on that basis from the start.

I notice on WIndows Vista TELNET has been removed, which means 95,98,2000 and XP machines are easier to use with the book.

As for languages, they say C, C++ and Unix are the ones you need, but as a starting point, I think C would be tough. I learnt VB and then Java, though my Masters in Ethical Hacking is doing C and C++.

Hi Chris

I have applied for the course and I have to get an interview before I can be accepted (given the skills you are being taught its hardly a surprise). It isnt a local course for me because Im based right now in Austria.

But, it is the worlds first masters in ethical hacking and as far as I can tell, still the only one, at least in europe.

Hi

I am a newbee to Ethical Hacking but have registered for a Masters Degree in Ethical Hacking and countermeasures at a University in Scotland.

I think this is the worlds first Masters in Ethical Hacking and was wondering if any of you would value this over the EHC course ?

Thanks
