1  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / Hardware / How do I recognize a multi-function printing device on a network? on: October 31, 2007, 07:34:21 AM
Hi all,

I'm currently working on a project where I have to create software that sits on a network and scans the network for a multifunction printing device and then has to pull certain information from this device.

The only way I've located to remotely pick this up is by using nmap on the network, checking for devices that use the printing ports and then identifying them by using a combination of their Mac addresses and their Digital Signatures.

Could anyone advise me on a simpler method for doing so?

Thanx
