If you have good security and policies in place, there should not be a problem.

Hey thanks and I agree.

Yes teaching paraphrases is a key to strong passwords in the work place. If part of my job is to help implement good security policies at a business, I always teach paraphrasing.

Greetings.  Having a hunger for knowledge is one of the most important traits for a hacker. That doesn't mean just memorizing and regurgitating existing information, but also taking it in new directions also. Thats what hackers did back int the day. Glad you are here and look forward to your future posts.

I have used IRIS and have had reasonable luck with it.
291  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / Network Pen Testing / Re: Linksys router affecting outbound nmap scans on: December 01, 2007, 09:23:51 AM
Not to mention this new "cheap piece of crap" router solved my Linux wireless problems too... the signal even carries up two floors in my house very well!

Amazing when the cheap hardware performs better than the overpriced name brand stuff, but I have run into that also.
Good job on keeping with it until you solved your issue. Sounds like your good to go. To paraphrase an old saying, "there are few problems in hacking that persistence cant solve". Be a little careful about going to wild with scanning blindly over the net. Some ISPs monitor that and will cut your connection.

I assume you have done all your homework on the subject. If so, then dont sweat it. Get plenty of sleep and try and relax. If you dont pass it the first time, its not the end of the world. Just learn from your mistakes and try again.

Good Luck and lets us know how it goes.

Yes of course and very true, buts its raison d’ętre is to be a security scanner.

If you don't use GFIlangaurd for a vulnerability scanning, which is its purpose, what do you use it for?
297  Resources / Tools / Re: Opinions on best Network Vulnerability Scanners on: November 28, 2007, 07:42:37 PM
The best free scanner is Nessus. I run it form Linux because the last time I checked there where a few more options available on the Linux version than the program that was written for windows. For a paid version, GFILanguard has the best bang for the buck.

Emanon, I don't think you should leave. You have made a number of posts and thats better than 90% of the people that just lurk out there. Perhaps a little style change might be helpful when you are making your point?

Northern VA? Thats my old stomping ground.  I still have a lot of family there. Next time I get back that way I  will buy you a beer!

I know Private investigators have a source they use, but I have never found one that was free. I have also heard that the results with Intelius vary and are not always accurate so you might want to be cautious.
