At the moment I am working on the elearnsecurity course. Thus far I have enjoyed my own personal experience of this mode of learning.
My main challenge is usually fitting in the time, I am glad that you get plenty of time to focus in on the relevant learning outcomes for the assessment.
Then I can follow up on the other knowledge domains with the life time access to content which I have enrolled in.
The communication via the forum for me has so far been effective. When I have had a question, often another more experienced student will respond and an Instructor may contribute, which is good also in a way to have another effective part of learning, contribution and interaction of peer learners.
Armando has provided me with a confidence to know that any question I have will be answered, hopefully I will be able to understand and learn from that answer, sometimes that part requires more work from me. Fair enough.
Like most forums I have ever used in the past there is a delay in terms of response time but this is the norm from my experiance of online distance learning options. I would highly suggest, if like me you have time constraints on your amount of CPD time you can spend, you will want to make sure you account for this in terms of your own learning plan.
Hope these comments assist anyone who is curious about the course. If anything I have said is not clear enough feel free to pm me if you have any questions.

Hi,
Although relatively new to these forums and to be honest at the moment struggling to commit enough time to fully read useful insights into the area I am researching as much as I can at the moment.
I would like to comment.
For one I would not drop the word hacking. I recently found that at a couple of general sec awareness sessions I presented on, doing so in the spirit of educating for the benefit of all, both events free. Also as a personal learning tool and I if honest could use more projects.
We got a high turn out, I believe that part of this reason was using the term "ethical hacking" people in general most often I feel switch off from any other computing related topic. One group was non technical.
When you have a chance to present, you also have a chance to inform about any issues you feel people should respond to and can combine with technology in an ethical way gain support to persuade government in a democratic way.
Edit: deleted an extra word. Smartphone screens.

I have an opinion about this thread. I'm currently working on this cert.
I have found that for me this course is one that personally I could afford, spent my staff training budget I think on CEH. But wanted more, so for the first time in my career I put my hand in my own pocket for a course.
So far I can honestly say I don't feel anyway disappointed.
The course is a real challenge instead of a walkthrough for a change, been on many a course over the years and a few other cert, this course encourages me to think, research, test and learn.
I like the fact that vulnerability assessment tools don't make it easy,I expect that manual testing and proper understanding and willingness to research etc is what a tester needs to be.
I can also say that so far commitments that have been made to learners to continue to improve the value have been met and I don't foresee any changes to that.
I have recieved support to broaden my understanding from the tutors, the forum is the main method at the moment, but like someone else pointed out there is a need to be patient which I can understand.
I don't know if it is best to do perhaps ceh, sec+ before you go for this one but I would at least suggest anyone thinking of signing up makes sure they allow enough time for independent research. Like I said there is no walkthrough, and its not like training for a mc exam.
One more thing I will add lifetime access at the price set is also of value.
