91  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / Network Pen Testing / Re: My Experience With Hackingdojo Ripped Off My Money on: October 18, 2012, 06:26:44 AM
I'm currently in the hospital (perforated lower intestine), so cannot respond at this moment. Once released I will respond. Thanks for everyone's patience.

I think before anyone has anything else to say we need to let Thomas get back on his feet.

I agree  Grin

I dont know about attrition, I would personally reserve that for the most extreme and blatant cases. This seems more like disputes.

I know taking this to Attrition is a bit extreme, but a security company who isn't dealing in an honest way? Every security company should know about Attrition, and the potential PR impact it has if you don't play fair in the industry. I don't want to see Hacking Dojo there, as I like it even though contact issues has known to occur, even for me  Smiley (Basically because they are extremely busy with their other primary job as well.)

I think you should look for opportunities outside of the UK as well, in case that is where you are based. I am wondering however, are you from a country where the primary language is not English? Your grammar seems a bit odd (no offense intended), but good writing skills is essential for reporting as well, so you may want to improve your English writing skills as well. (FYI I am not an English native speaking person, and I didn't take any higher education in English, but I have used it for many years, and I keep improving every day.)

Even though I haven't had any bad experience with the Hacking Dojo, I think you should contact http://attrition.org/ about this. (Twitter: attritionorg , Email: jericho[at]attrition.org)

I think he means one of the members (i.e. "pentest here", which should be "pentesters" in plural form.)

If I can guess the name without saying who, I get a free beer  Grin

OSCE will force you to think (more) out of the box, than you may have previously thought was possible, it's a great certification, but it is also very hard  Smiley
97  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / Other / Re: Increase mouse acceleration exponentials on: October 10, 2012, 06:23:38 PM
If this is related to playing FPS computers, then take a look at the following article:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2575532

A lot of computer games, override the Windows settings completely. It can of course, be considered an interesting project, but generally on Windows you're locked to the Windows settings and drivers, the mouse driver that's generally not open source (with e.g. Steelseries there's additional settings.), and of course, the settings in-game.

Disabling acceleration in games like CS:GO is a good idea.

The Homeland Security Department is in need of a few cyber ninjas.
DHS requires help in defining and developing about 600 superbly skilled and proficient employees. And the ninjas, or experts, will help set the curriculum for current and future cyber workers.

We are starting with the people that really do have the tradecraft. We are using them in order to identify what are the mission critical functions, tasks and what kind of scenarios do they need to be trained to," said Steve Myers, who is a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council's Task Force on Cyberskills and spent his entire career in the defense and national security area. "What would the necessary proficiency be to be able to perform?" """

For those of us in the states.  Anyway catch Reboot?  That was entertaining.

Anyone in the entire world can watch Reboot lol  Grin I watched it before Derbycon  Grin (By donating to them, which I thought was fair enough and good money spent hehe.)
101  Resources / News from the Outside World / World of Warcraft - Everyone (in range) Dies on: October 07, 2012, 09:26:35 PM
Very recently, a hacker (Jadd?) or a group of hackers (Jadd, Master674, and Cencil?) most likely from OwnedCore (formerly known as MMOwned) discovered an exploit that would allow them to either activate GM spells or custom spells, that would kill anyone in range instantly.

If you dig around the forums, you may find someone else had a past in having fun with the WoW game there as well  Grin But that was a looong time ago.  Wink

102  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / Social Engineering / Re: I would like to hear from people who actually use social engineering in theirjob on: October 07, 2012, 06:38:35 PM
I Think many people Social Engineer without knowing. I do it very often. But not at work. Well maybe once an awhile.  Grin

I also run a Forum just for Social Engineering If you'd like to check it out.

https://hmsef.net/

I think you forgot to read the title of this website, it's The Ethical Hacker Network, not "Illlegal or Unethical Hacker Network". Your site promotes the usage of "fake receipts" and the motto is: "We get free shit". It sounds more like you are scammers abusing how e.g. corporations function in the States, etc.

Social engineering, does not have to be applied at a malicious / illegal / unethical level.
103  Resources / Career Central / Re: Thanks EH-Net! (A success story) on: October 06, 2012, 01:58:48 AM
Congratulations! Branding your real name by writing articles for various magazines, releasing custom tools, and research, exploits, etc. helps getting into the infosec industry as well.

Sometimes you may have to travel to some of the big nations of infosec such as England, The United States, or even Australia, when you realise your own country doesn't have any market, or only a very small market for penetration testing.

I moved to Australia, which is like the other side of the world for me, but it was what I had to do, to get a job within infosec for a living  Smiley
104  EH-Net / Ethical Hacktivism / Re: Myspace on: October 04, 2012, 06:18:30 PM
I would really apprecitate someone telling me how to hack into a myspace profile step by step Smiley

format c: *.*

will check for those (.) file

heheheh

That's not even going to work, so the joke is kind of pointless as you can't format the partition where Windows is installed with "format".
This may sound harsh, but I think you should look into learning more about Windows and how it works deeper than just what you've read or heard others say  Grin

Gawd, it's idiots (spammers) like this that ruins communities..... Exactly what do they think they achieve by spamming a hacker board?
