1  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker / Can I take the C|EH exam? on: February 10, 2011, 02:19:06 PM
Just wondering if I can take this exam, I've read mixed things and I know some certs modify their pre reqs if you graduated from a 4 year school. I've been employed for 1 yr 8months and graduated from a 4 year college with 2 IT related degrees.

Also, how much is the training course through EC-Council and does it include the exam? I can't seem to find this on the website even after I select the location.

I don't really have much experience other than 4 years of college with 2 Cyber Security related degrees. Other than that about 8 months of security related work.

Maybe something along the lines of a cyber security analyst. If that makes sense.

So I'm 6 months out of graduating school and just passed my GCIH exam. Now I'm wondering what certs should be on the top of my list for me if I'm trying to aspire to be a Cyber Security/Info Sec Professional.
5  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / GCIH - GIAC Certified Incident Handler / 4 days before GCIH test-please help on: January 29, 2011, 08:58:03 PM
So I've taken my two practice tests and my most recent I scored a 69%. I probably could have taken it more seriously but none the less freaking out because I didn't pass it. I've created an index from the books while going through the slides on the OnDemand program. I was just wondering is the actual test harder than the practice tests? Also should I be doing the labs as a practice? With less than a week left what are your recommendations for me to pass the cert. I'm new to the IH industry having only graduated 7 months ago, I just don't want to fail this test. Thanks for your help in advance.

Is it worth it to buy an additional practice test since they pull from that question bank for the exam?

Hi All,

I'm fresh out of school and was looking to take the GCIH exam. I currently have no certs but will be taking the class at the conference as well as purchasing the OnDemand supplemental slides, mp3s etc. My question is do you need to have a certain skillset or something before you take this test. I have no professional experience but will be taking the course + a couple months of the OnDemand stuff. Let me know what you think, thanks in advance!
