I was thinking about signing up to this last night since I found it. But my thing is I never done anything like that or played that. I heard it's lots of fun.

Last night and this morning I been trying to find out what skills you need or some kind of information on how to play..

You could say I'm a n00b to ctf thing.

Sorry to hear that ... maybe next time you will not take any pix or write certain things like that. Hopefully you learned your lesson on doing stuff like that. Good luck and file a police report.
6  EH-Net / Ethical Hacktivism / Re: Paranoid parents messing with routers on: October 04, 2012, 11:09:56 AM
hahah if my parents would of done this to me I would of figured it out. Like someone said the power is off after a certain time. What you need to do is see if you could ping the router after that time. What they might of done also is just block your mac address from teh machine you are working on.

Are you sure it's just your computer or laptop. If that's the case just chance your mac address...
7  EH-Net / Ethical Hacktivism / Re: Myspace on: October 04, 2012, 11:05:35 AM
I would really apprecitate someone telling me how to hack into a myspace profile step by step Smiley

The first thing you should do is start -> run > type cmd > ping myspace.com

if something comes back then you type the following.

format c: *.*

will check for those (.) file

heheheh

Well I just signed up after reading it. I am looking forward to the site, and seeing what it offers. I'm just starting to learn about security and need a stepping stone.  I do work in the I.T dept but most of it is help desk and some server things. But I really looking forward on learning more about security and pen testing.

I will my phone for openening day. ;-)

11  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / OSCP - Offensive Security Certified Professional / Re: OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional) Certification on: February 19, 2008, 07:37:57 PM
The only thing that I'm worried about is the "understanding of Network Administration and TCP/IP" part... That could mean alot, since many network admin have different means. The tcp/ip thing I know how to configure them in windows and linux, but after that I know just a bit .

I think I just might look into studing more network admin and tcp/ip just to make sure.

also I tried to look for a price on all this on there site. I could not find anything, anyone have a link to it?
12  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / OSCP - Offensive Security Certified Professional / Re: OSCP Some resources I have found useful on: February 19, 2008, 07:11:49 PM
Thank you for the links. The site looks good, and I plan on taking the cert that's if I have enough skill with the tcp/ip and network admin side.

I'm just getting started in this field since most of my work has been in help desk.

Thanks again.

Hello,

I have a question regarding this cert...Would some one starting network admin or security be able to take this course? I was looking over the course topics and it looks simple the couple of things. I worked in I.T for over 8 yrs but doing help desk and trouble shooting.

I worked with some MS system , and linux box (Fedora Cool At the moment I'm running Vista and FC8 on my dell laptop.

I know some linux commands since i been doing work on my laptop. I'm just worried that if I sign up for this course I will be left behind.

Any feed back would be great.

Thank you for the reply back. Right now I'm reading a book called "network security First-step' it's by Tom Thomas ciscopress.com

Like it so far, tonight I'm going to build my network since I have 2 extra computers.... What OS should I load on them? I'm running XP right now, I have a trial ver of server 03, I was also thinking about building a Fedora box.
