sounds interesting, i get the feeling it goes from the basics to pretty deep when i look at the course outline. too bad i want to clear some other stuff first, otherwise i would be giving it a shot!
62  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / General Certification / Re: Certification plans for 2012? on: January 02, 2012, 03:49:54 AM
LPT, probably self study for a change, after that i think eCPPT would be fun Smiley
63  Resources / News from the Outside World / Re: InterN0T shut down by their hosting provider 1and1 on: January 02, 2012, 03:45:36 AM
wow, what a bummer (to say the least). just some advice: do not try to win the battle on the "my site is 100% ethical" discussion, just do whatever it takes to get a decent backup and move your site/documents/etc to another hosting...good luck on this one! and remember, EH.net got your back Wink

i am sure the new subjects are a great addition to the course, especially the rogue access point part. a while ago i was fiddling with this and setting up things like a rogue radius server, which is quite interesting...

67  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / Network Pen Testing / Re: msfencode on: November 29, 2011, 06:59:31 AM
pff, this is not easy, i'd say you have two options. now please correct me if i'm wrong, i have no experience with this whatsoever!

first thing you could to to evade antivirus is make sure the code is different so it will not match the signature of the antivirus. You can do this by adding characters that may not be used. you can use the following parameter for this:     -b   The list of characters to avoid: 'x00xff'

another option would be to obfuscate the code or to attach the code to another executable, but i dont have any examples on that.

you probably already seen this one? http://www.offensive-security.com/metasploit-unleashed/Antivirus_Bypass

i lold when i read this regarding the text that is present on the bandana:

All advice offered on this bandana should not be construed as legal council. Consult a lawyer in the event of any involvement with the law. If you cite a bandana as your legal council in court you will be laughed at by a man in a wig.

71  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / ECSA - EC-Council Certified Security Analyst / Re: How do I know if I am ready for ECSA? on: September 09, 2011, 05:11:01 AM
Keep me posted on the self-study experience, it seems my employer sees no benefit in me taking the ECSA course (they say my skills are already 1337 enough Cheesy). Thinking about financing the self study course myself depending on the material (would like to see some technical background on the subjects) and additional costs (noticed the 100,- additional fee on the website).

sorry i'm not active lately (would love to take a shot at this months giveaway) but i broke my collarbone, so typing is kind of a hassle Angry

However i believe you take LPT and if you already have CEH you can apply for the ECSA title, with no extra effort!

When you received the ECSA (where CEH is a prerequirement) you can apply for the LPT (background check + fee; no exam).

So the other way round, i always mix those two up. Thanks!

Might as well install your own CA and just use self signed Cheesy

there you go, problem fixed Wink

Hey j0rDy!

When you say:

still waiting for green light

You mean your employer will pay for it, right? You didn't mean EC-Council needs to approve you (looking at your experience) like for CISSP?

I was planning to study and just register for the exam, but I often miss these things...  Tongue

you, are right sir Smiley i want to take the 6 day bootcamp that starts in october, if this is not possible i probably go for self-study also...

However i believe you take LPT and if you already have CEH you can apply for the ECSA title, with no extra effort!
