Like a guy that runs a Dojo getting his butt kicked by a group of 10 year olds

My wife is nagging me to watch our Netflix DVD so she can send it back. I keep telling her I'll be watching your videos for a while because I enjoy them more than the movie she picked - she should just send it back!

With so many tools available to a Pen Tester its a bit of a nightmare trying to decide which ones to key on for a new guy. I do consider certain ones must haves like Nmap, Netcat, JtR, the Aircrack and Burpe suite.
Can you experienced security folks make any suggestions for 'special use' or unique  tools I should be looking into?
