If you're looking to learn how to program, I'd say just hop on Google and go to howstuffworks.com - they have some great introductory computer articles, including programming. Or stick around here, there should be some Programming 101 articles coming up in a few weeks. Wink

Thanks for the tip I have been trying to find some dumby friendly sites as my wushu is not as good as I would like it to be.

I am from NC. I plan on transferring to DeVry in Raleigh to finish up my CIS degree. I am trying to find a school that actually offers Cert classes. The ones that actually teach you a language and/or anything that can be actually used. All my classes now are theory and pseudo code.
Maybe I am just being inpatient. I just feel behind the power curve and I am not use to that. Embarrassed

That is what I call true advertising. Sounds like the perfect place to go. I would love to take a few classes there.
I feel bad for the sorry person who actually enters in all the "required fields".
I started to put in a username and then looked at the rest of the fields and busted out laughing. The person in the other room poked their head in asking to see, I tried to explain it to them but of course they did not get it.

I have only taken ONE programming class. Most of the other classes are General education for my degree. We use virtual labs but have not done any coding other than writing pseudo code which does not execute at all. So I do not know if I am doing something wrong unless someone tells me.

Thank you everyone for your input so far.

I am currently going to school for CIS. Majoring in Forensics, ISS or analytical (have not decided yet). I am trying to get a head start on some things. I have taken A programming class using pseudo code. I enjoyed the class but wanted to start learning a real language. But I am afraid of messing up my computer at home.
I do not know how to set up a safe lab on my computer. I know little to nothing about real programming on a real computer. Should I purchase a cheap computer to play on or is there not much real risk in just programming. I have just an average computer that I upgraded some. I could use a major rundown so far as software and such.  Huh
