Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / Hardware / Wireless interenet in Kuwait.

As some of you know I am on my way to Kuwait soon. Well tonight to be exact. I am trying to find a wireless card for my laptop as the system they have set up there is not quite working yet. I need a internet connection on a regular basis so that I can get school work done in my down time. I do not want to have to wait in line every day to use the community computers and like I said the individual set up is not sufficient as of yet.
So here is my question. Does anyone know who the best provider would be for a internet card for my laptop. I have only had time to talk to cingular and they stated that it would be at dial up speeds and there would be a .01 charge for EVERY KB transfered which is a bit out there to me. My wife said she spoke with Verizon and Sprint who stated they have cable speed cards for $90 a month. I know we have a variety of people from various locations and just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on this.

I wish you all well in this endeavor but alas I will not be able to make it this year. Rest assured I will do everything I can to attend the one next year once I return. I will gladly volunteer then for whatever you need so long as I am back and able to attend. That will be my 5th anniversary what better way to spend it than going somewhere we have never been.

I finished the book a month ago but have just now been able to get around to log on to the site. As some of you know I am training for deployment. The book was rather good up until the end. I hate when they cop out like that. I did like the rest of the book and have to admit that I would by a sequel if it were to come out. One of the first books that I can honestly say I was not sure of what was coming next. Did not expect a few things that happened. Not just another generic book.

I just joined Hackin9 as a beta tester. Since they ship to over 20 countries I can not imagine it will be hard for me to acquire a subscription be delivered to an APO/FPO. Thanks for your help. Special thanks to Don and everyone here and at CSP who have helped me so far. I am going to continue to visit the site throughout my tour.

I believe I understand what you are asking. As a newbie I have been researching trying to find out what I can do before I finish my degree to get a head start. In researching I have looked at a lot of certifications. That being said it is my understanding that anyone can attend the CEH boot. However if you would like to self-study and take the exam then EC requires you to have 2 years security XP. EC recommends that if you actually wish to get certified that you be Security+ certified first. It is not however to my knowledge required, I see a number of people CEH certed w/o Sec+. One of my friends only cert is CISSP. I hope that this answers your question and that I have not mispoken. I have not spoken to a EC rep, I have only looked online, but this is my understanding.

Awesome site. There are an additional 3 chapters on the site as well as some links. Talking about some of the devices and tech used in the book. Such as MRI scans being used as a lie detector. I have not seen it used to tell what someone says but it is the BEST lie detector to date. Also the sonic sound is a very useful riot control weapon being researched. Excellent site to make you think about some things.

This will be used for school and as a hack lab as you call it. I am leaning more towards a laptop for this reason. Plus my desktop works just fine for what I use it for.
I am looking for what components to put over others. It seems that I have seen RAM be a big issue for some of the posts I have read.

Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / Programming / Newbie: VB.NET or C#

I am about to take a class and I have the option of taking programming being taught using either VB.NET, C#, or pseudo. I took a Logic and Design class in Pseudo and would like to start learning an actual program.
So given the choice between learning .NET or C# as your first language which would you choose? Which will be most useful, I am not so much worried about ease of learning, as I am sure is the same with most people here, because I learn fairly quickly.
