4  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / Network Pen Testing / Re: Do you need to know programming to hack? on: March 19, 2007, 01:47:47 PM
by reading you posts i get it that you really are someone who is looking for the right thing and unlike most others you are looking for it at the right place Wink you get what i mean

any ways from what i have read and what i know u need to know and think like a cracker if u are up to securing your network. you need to know how cracking softwares work, how they work on your network what results they display. As by thinking how a cracker thinks you get to know a lot vulnarabilties in you network than you think like the network admin. but the difference between us and the crackers is that we do it the legal and ethical way.
5  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / Network Pen Testing / Re: Ultimate Newbie Question on: March 19, 2007, 01:26:54 PM
it is pretty nice to see a lot of explanations and guidance actually as i my self is a newbie all the articles u guys have pointed to and all the cautious points u are giving is really helpful.

and it kevan  might have noticed all the views are shared very very decent unlike any other place we go in where we newbies get flamed. EH-net is really a friendly environment to establish the foundation of ones career
6  EH-Net / Calendar Of Events / Re: Info Sec World 2007 on: March 19, 2007, 01:03:17 PM
i really love to attend a likely event but the problem is am just too far away from the location. if world conference would come to south Asia i would definitely be there.
7  EH-Net / News Items and General Discussion About EH-Net / Re: Help Promote EH-Net on: March 11, 2007, 10:21:46 PM
i have noticed that this topic is 6 months old however dont see much involvement of members in the discussions. i think we need to team up and promote more discussions in the forum and involvement of more members.
8  EH-Net / ChicagoCon 2007 / Re: ChicagoCon by The Ethical Hacker Network on: March 11, 2007, 10:10:55 PM
Now the last point is much attractive. let the whole con be scheduled for 7 day period while participation can be left on the students. if they do  not want to take boot camps they could attend just the 2 days on the weekend and vise versa.
9  EH-Net / ChicagoCon 2007 / Re: ChicagoCon by The Ethical Hacker Network on: March 11, 2007, 01:01:51 PM
As everyone else is commenting id also say 5 days would be fair enough but if it could be shorten to 3-4 days then it would be much better i think. but sad thing is Chicago is far off my limits too. hope much of these events are held near our area (South Asia region)

13  EH-Net / Calendar Of Events / Re: Information Security Day 2007 on: March 09, 2007, 11:15:15 PM
In the past i have hosted some events in my home country Maldives. some of it IT related. it was last year when i discovered an IT security day was ever marked. cause i joined the field only recently. but it was late when i discovered it. since then i have had the vision to host an event to mark information security day 2007. even at a smaller scale as Maldives is not that much advanced with the information security. i will think of some kewl ideas to include in a global event. and keep everyone posted.
