LOL!  Happy New Year!!

That would assume that the website field is populated.

Remember, the original purpose ajohnson referred to, for suggesting a script, was to create a map of user locations for members.  If specific data doesn't exist, it can't used in order for the user to be mapped.

But technically, that would also include the same for the location field...

If you're good at memorization, you really shouldn't have trouble with CEH (although when I took the v7 refresher - full class -  a couple of years ago, I was surprised that only I and one other person passed the exam at the end...  Really didn't think it was THAT difficult)

BTW chrisj, unsure how often I can come up that way, but I'm not far from 'southeast Michigan' (Sandusky, Ohio - aka, Cedar Point land)

Have to meet up, one of these days, when opportunity permits.

Northern Ohio, myself.
81  Resources / Career Central / Re: Question about penetration testing specialties on: December 30, 2012, 07:45:03 PM
There are folks that go one direction or another, and there are folks who are more rounded and do both.  I'd suggest, at least initially, that you explore both, but focus your time in whichever area is your 'strong suit', then, once you get a feel for things, decide whether to be a generalist, or continue to focus in a specific area.

I consider myself a solid / strong generalist, but I have no issue teaming with folks whom I know are specialists in a given realm, if it means that A.) I'm free to focus on certain areas for a given test, and B.) the overall result can be more detailed and 'all inclusive' for certain engagements.

Hope that makes sense.  Grin

I stopped working on it, a while ago.  Had too much else going on.  Might revisit it, soon, if it's left up / open.

Otherwise, looking forward to seeing the 'how to''s

@tturner - Unfortunately, won't be. But one of these days, if I ever run into you, Ill take you up on it, for sure!   Wink

Thanks for the congrats, though, from ALL of you!  It was definitely a long few months there, and it's nice to know I finished it (and I'm sure ajohnson likely feels much the same, as I know he's got his irons in a lot of fires, right now, too.)
85  EH-Net / News Items and General Discussion About EH-Net / Re: What does EthicalHacker.net brings you? on: December 27, 2012, 08:34:17 AM
Those are good observations, H1tM0nk3y.  This is generally the time of year when I reflect back, as well, and the informative threads, here, are often motivators for me, as too.

In honesty, while I've never met ANY of the folks here, outside of the threads, or PM's, or in some cases, Instant Messenger, I have closer friends here than many of my personal friends, because here, there are folks who understand where my head's at.  That isn't to say everyone here is 'close', but it's a place where you can learn, you can have intelligent conversations, and if you get off course, you can actually be 'schooled' (which sometimes becomes necessary to keep us focused and on track.)

As a lot of us found, early, there aren't 'many' places / forums, online or otherwise, where we can interact on the levels that EH-Net affords us, on a regular basis.  Personally, the area where I live is a minimum of an hour (generally more) from any larger metropolitan areas, so 'professional networking' opportunities don't come often, especially with family time and my job (that's right, I don't work in infosec for a full-time living, but rather, it's a side venture.  Often wish it WAS full-time, and perhaps, when the stars align in a couple of years - long, unnecessary side story - it will be).  So EH-Net becomes my landing place, to wind down, share information, get perspectives, and just regain a little focus, in general.

But, long-winded post coming to an end, I agree.  don has a good thing going here.

Thanks.  Saw it before, but hadn't played with it, yet...  Will add to my list, now that I have some free cycles.

Some other web / php shells that may come in handy:

*** NOTE *** - As always, test and feel comfortable that a given web / php shell isn't doing something behind the scenes, before using it in a mission-critical / production/ customer's environment.
