1  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker / Re: How hard is the CEH exam really? on: November 23, 2009, 02:09:54 PM
By the way, I did the CEH sample test on the EC-Counsil site and I am not sure if the correct answer for question 8 is really c because I think b would make more sense ... ?

I keep you posted how my exam went Smiley
whether the SSID is default or not - it is still can be seen easilly and this is the point
good luck with your exam Smiley
2  Resources / Tutorial Requests / Re: request for hash grabing tutorial on: November 06, 2009, 04:43:54 AM
hi i'm a ubuntu Linux user and i was wondering if someone could post a tutorial on grabbing a password hash from a server.

can you please be more specific about the conditions/limitations? the first answer that comes into the head is "sudo cat /etc/shadow" Smiley

i guess some other way to be a hero like saving rainforests etc. is more ethical Smiley
if you still need that kind of fame i'll suggest using several widely available online ntlm password "decrypting" sites

Ants, frankly speaking, I doubt that anybody truly "ethical" will be able to provide you with a statistically-enough list of real-life hashes, i guess you should seek for more online password-cracking services/communities which have lists of cracked/uncracked hashes
for example:
http://cryptohaze.com/exporthashes.php
http://hash.insidepro.com
https://hashcracking.info/index.php?4
etc.

p.s. if speaking about statistics - have you seen John the Rippers's charsets and "Markovian filter" introduced lately in jumbo patches?
6  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / General Certification / Re: Best cert for practical experience in pen testing on: June 18, 2009, 01:04:00 AM
As you are already CISSP and CISM certified I assume that you have a good knowledge and a good base to go for OSCP.
and you'll qualify for 40 ISC2 CPE Credits for OSCP certification, which is a good addition i think Smiley
