I will be finished with BS in Cyber Security in Sep of 2013. Currently living in Germany, and looking on where to get my foot in the door. Been working with computers for over 15 years, but just getting the paperwork to prove it. Any ideas are more than welcome!

But with me just starting out in cyber security, how can one validate my contributions to this forum and the field as a whole? Now me working as an Apple Rep for the military community in Germany has many positives for contributing to my local community, it does no good here. So the only thing I can do is read posts, and respond with more questions. But now if the prize givers are looking for a newbie into cyber security that is passionate about computers, then I am the guy. So yes, I am going to make posts on daily, but I don't think my knowledge of security can contribute to any one persons success, and therefor must try in every way possible to win said prizes, because even the smallest prize that is being given away here can do nothing but make me better!

This site has been amazing so far with the amount of OPINIONS you can find. And if anyone comes to a forum to find answers for a test, obviously missed large parts of school where they said even WIKI is NOT a source for tests or papers. If you want an opinion, come here. If you want an answer to a test question, read the study guide.

And as far as giving back, I work for Apple in the on-base stores here in Europe. We help people understand their new computer, and so forth. Two weeks ago, on my own dime, I drove a customer to the Apple store in Munchen to get her iMac fixed and considerable time on the phone with apple care because she didn't register her computer right away. Does that qualify as helping out in the community. And next month I will be working part time for a program on the military bases called CHILD AND YOUTH SERVICES, working tin the technology lab teaching teenagers other things you can do with computers besides Facebook and amazon.

Just started my CyberSecurity BS through a uni in the US. I am currently not in possession of a laptop capable of running most of the programs and such that are discussed here with EH and elsewhere. So obviously I am in search of a new laptop. Now I work for Apple and can get a discount on a new one, but before I sink $3300 into a Retina 15" Pro, I would love the opinion of anyone who thinks this is good or bad. I am currently running an older Mac with unbunto and OSx Lion via parallels. The Retina has 2.7 i7 with TB to 3.7 and 16GB RAM and 512SSD. I THINK that would make it good for today's computers and well into the future for pen testing and so forth. Tell me if I am completely off base or on the right track!
