32  EH-Net / News Items and General Discussion About EH-Net / Re: Change is Coming to EH-Net!! on: April 09, 2013, 03:15:30 AM
I use this site alot in the past few months I have not been about as been buying house and getting married and all the other wonderful things about life. However here is what I think..

1. Are you on-board with what we may have to do?
Yes as in the long run it will benefit the end user.

2. How extensively do you use PMs through our forums?
I hardly ever use PM's I think they are more used by people spamming me.

3. who's interested in Blogging for EH-Net?
I could maybe do some stuff depending on topics so on.

4. Who's willing to help test?
I am more than happy to test/break the new site.

5. Who's willing to possibily help moderate the forums?
This would depend on how it was done and if there were certain times but again I could possible help.

6. Anyone willing to lend a hand who has expertise in PHP, MySQL, design?
My PHP, MYSQL are a little rusty but I dont mind getting involved and helping in anyway I can.

7. Should we implement OpenID, login with Twitter?
I am not too sure on this I mean it would make it easy to log on but I like to have different username and password and just reset them when I get them rather than using same one.

I think hayabusa mean full client as in software you install so you would have an application on your laptop/desktop that you need to launch to set the VPN up.

A few vendors offer this but again its swing and roundabouts I used a VPN not so long ago and found out they were storing my password in plain text. So where I thought I was getting my data encrypted they went really securing me in all ways.

I have not used WiTopia so cant really give any advice on it.

There was an article not so long ago on Torrent Freak about VPN it might be worth reading it tents to cover downloading anonymous but still might give you better idea of different services.

I hope this help

Agree with other also your last post I think is against the rules maybe you should read them again. This site is about ethical hacking so tutorials on how to get software for free no matter how informative they are should not be posted here.

Admin please correct me if I am wrong..

I have always used burp suite and the paid version is worth the money. However if you looking for free alternative ZAP by OWASP is pretty good.

I agree it sounds like you got plenty of skills already I would say leaning a programming language like python would be very useful. I am sure you have one already but having a lab is a great way to test your skills.

Most of the course you have done seem to cover the theory side of things I would try and do a more hands on course like OSCP or elearn.

Another thing you may want to consider if you don't already have one but a security website or blog this is great for job interviews give you something to talk about but also shows you eat sleep drink breath security and I think this is really important as security is not a 9-5 job.
42  Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / OSCP - Offensive Security Certified Professional / Re: Failed my first attempt at the OSCP exam on: April 08, 2013, 04:04:57 AM
Sorry to hear you failed but don't worry about it. I would not look at it as a fail but as by not passing first time you would gained some really good skills that help you pass it next time. Now you know what the exam is you can prepare yourself for it better and I sure you pass next time.

I got told  about the web course the other day so I hope to do that depending on how much it is maybe before of after I do the gold certificate.

I don't actually know the exact price, but the first post would suggest it's around $900. Although, there is the opportunity to get 30% off of this.

Thanks I hope they do it like V2 course where you can pay in installments.

WOW this is a fantastic prize!!

I have done the First version of the professional course and the second version and I can tell say the material is really good. Version two of the course teaches you most common concepts and tools and backs this up with the labs which are amazing.

I got told  about the web course the other day so I hope to do that depending on how much it is maybe before of after I do the gold certificate.

I would say if you not won a prize on this site before its really worth aiming for this bad boy of a prize.
