Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / Network Pen Testing / Re: Free Cell Phone lookup

I've read that Intellus does not really do much beyond provider and location. I found a free service, http://phonetrace.org/ (PG-13) I remember finding a ring tone download website which would tell you the carrier, but then you'd have to call and SE more details. The only other option I found is to spoof the cell phone number and call a landline for the caller ID info... but that suggestion would better be posted and discussed at http://www.unethicalhacker.net (yours for the low price of $450) run by Evil Don and such illustrious posters as Evil Unsupported, Evil Hayabusa, Evil BillV, Evil Ketchup, Evil Jhaddix, Evil ZeroFlaw, etc. (who look just like their normal counterparts, but with goatees).

I'm 100% confused, except that this person seems to have a p0rn fetish... Who doesn't? Oh well, to each his own. Ok, I think you are judging. As for you, Ishmael, this isn't the board, nor are the members of any interest, to help you surf for p0rn. If you pick up a virus from that activity, well, the ethical hacker's point of view would be 'Stop surfing for that stuff to begin with!' (DUH)
That is a true statement.

if anyone would like to donate or help me with a affordable price.
Their recent CEH study materials, books, Cd's or the security + 2008 please send me a message,
New student , I have check usa jobs no jobs postings yet. in past week we lost 224, 419 jobs in florida last quater.
thanks
I've posted before that the your local library (county or school) would be a great resource for finding low cost materials. I think you may be more likely to find Security +, rather than CEH, but it is worth a shot. Also, what kind of job are you looking for? Where in Florida are you located? Good luck!

The Kensington lock is a deterrent, like the 4 foot fence around the building. It'll stop some jackass from just walking away with it; but it won't stop someone determined to get it. If they're really determined.....they'll just take it from you with force and go. The Kensington lock is better than nothing at all.
All locks are just a deterrent or a method to slow someone down. 99% of the students at my school do not use locks like this. If someone had the opportunity, would you rather take a computer with a lock or without? I am just using the lock for when I am in class and take a break, if I am in the library or open area the laptop comes with me. I'm also going to use it in my next SANS class, so I do not have to carry around my laptop.

My information security career has made me very paranoid! For example, I only read my email in plain text to prevent any rogue links or other issues. I also use Firefox with add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block Plus. At home, I have replaced Adobe Reader with FoxIt Reader and I am in the middle of looking for an Adobe Flash replacement (Gnash seems appropriate).
I still use Windows Firewall because I've been lazy about finding a replacement, and I prefer to use OpenOffice at home as well.
In regards to hardware, I just bought a Kensington lock because I am bringing my laptop to school.
What paranoia have you been driven to since you know all the evils of the internet?

Ethical Hacking Discussions and Related Certifications / Network Pen Testing / DNSMAP: What do you do when a DNS Zone transfer is blocked?
|
on: February 26, 2010, 12:33:58 PM
|
DNSMAP is the answer to the question about, what do you do when a DNS zone transfer is being publicly blocked? DNSMAP is a mostly passive tool for determining IP ranges and also brute forces sub-domains. DNSMAP V0.30 has been released! http://www.gnucitizen.org/blog/dnsmap-v030-is-now-out/New features
Anyways, the following are some of the new features included:
* IPv6 support * Makefile included * delay option (-d) added. This is useful in cases where dnsmap is killing your bandwidth * ignore IPs option (-i) added. This allows ignoring user-supplied IPs from the results. Useful for domains which cause dnsmap to produce false positives * changes made to make dnsmap compatible with OpenDNS * disclosure of internal IP addresses (RFC 1918) are reported * updated built-in wordlist * included a standalone three-letter acronym (TLA) subdomains wordlist * domains susceptible to “same site” scripting are reported * completion time is now displayed to the user * mechanism to attempt to bruteforce wildcard-enabled domains * unique filename containing timestamp is now created when no specific output filename is supplied by user * various minor bugs fixed Earlier versions are included in Backtrack, and the tool is also covered here, http://www.darknet.org.uk/2009/03/dnsmap-022-released-subdomain-bruteforcing-tool/.

I think that in the interest of full disclosure, Lewis should have included (though it was easy enough to guess) that he is an employee of 7Safe. Good work. That was my assumption since he is a one post wonder. His guerrilla marketing kung-fu is better than ours. Maybe Don should approach him to be a paid sponsor of EH-Net ( http://www.ethicalhacker.net/content/view/69/8/).
