i am curious about the various equipement security practitioners have for testing.


my setup, main dell m1710 xps laptop,
dell latitude c640 for pen testing and linux backtrack.

optiplex with 8gb of ram, quad xeon, vmware esx 3.5 lab with various distro's of linux and windows flavors.


what about you?

the problem with hardware keyloggers they are quite expensive, if your target/victim spots it, you lose 250$+

Well i tested the software and it's more like 10 times faster, but it's quite impressive since it's able to use two or more indentical cores.

Orinoco where very popular, but they olny do 802.11b

I think any card that is able to do promicious mode and packet injection is good, you should look here for your information.

DD-WRT is nice, but you olny optimize the software in the router, check the 600$ router will actually have no problem working with complex routing tables and truly support more than simple routing protocols.

I found out in mine that i had issues with torrents and more than 200 simultanous connections.

Smiley but still is a nice project when you have a 50$ router.

you could probably build one with the autorun feature of the usb key and install the software on it.

i doubt its quite concealable.
