1  Features / Book Reviews / Similar book to Daemon? Suggestions? on: September 16, 2008, 04:50:29 PM
I'm going on a week and a half vacation, but can't find a travel book that peeks my interest.  Instead I'd like to find a more technological novel such as Daemon which I loved. Any suggestions on a novel to bring with me?  I'm leaving this Friday.

Thanks guys!

I have to agree. Your 22 air rifle will be useless against their advanced technology. You better just wait for the MIB backup to come with their "noisy cricket".  Cool

Hmm... I have this odd craving to go crack some WEP.  Roll Eyes

Just sucks that this is one of those bulky looking adapters. I can't stand those. I much prefer something internal and out of the way. Yo, Kev.. are there no pcmcia adapters that you know of which can compete with this USB adapter you've told us about?

Thanks!

It's about the same where I am in Western Canada. We have a total of one Con here. CanSecWest which is about $2000 though. Doesn't look nearly as exciting as DefCon, ChicagoCon, or BlackHat Briefings though.  Angry

I agree. A+ is usually every techie's first cert.  It's well worth if if you're starting out. Most companies have this as a basic requirement or a requirement to obtain within 6mths of employment.

I'm not sure what kind of firewall your classmates will be using, BUT... I would make use of the suggestion to spoof an email from your instructure and add on to that.  I would make the email come from your instructure and send it out to all your classmates except for the 2 who you think are experienced.  In this email, I would send an attachment or a link to an AV app (with your trojan embedded).  Make the email sound good, something about him suggesting they use this specific AV/Firewall.  You get the idea. From here you're bound to have at least one person install the trojan and you're in.

Wow! d'Otreppe actually designed this course too..  Shocked

I can only imagine how good this course will be since it's designer is also the creater of aircrack.  sweeeeeeeeeet!

Anyways, I'm sure OSWP will be a great cert to obtain if you're into wifi security.  Can't wait to hear more about it.
