i have been a member for maybe a month or so and have recieved no email, although i would be happy to recieve any sort of mail from this site. This place is a goldmine when it comes to interesting information and all the members seem very willing to help out if you have a question, everyone involved in the site does a great job, keep it up guys.

counter spy is very good and offers a full version free trial for 30 days so you can clean out your machine, AVG is one of the best av out there, it doesnt bog down the system like norton or macafee, and the 8.0 version is very user friendly and does a great job. the built in email scanner is also a nice touch. as long as you surf smart you shouldnt have many problems. I have not had any luck with spybot or ad aware and i usually just take them off machines i work on and put avg on and everyone has been happy

Part of being a hacker is always learning, no one is going to teach you, read books, start learning some programing and learn linux, you can download different distros for free and some can be run off a live cd. learn the linux and dos command lines and just start playing around on your own computer, google google google, just be careful and dont mess with someones system unless you have permission to do so, that gives all of us a bad name

Hello everyone, i am new to this site and wanted some feedback, First i think this is a great site with lots of good info, anyway im enrolled in a network and security design program at clark university, im starting my own company and money is pretty tight at the moment, i dont have the cash at the moment to pay for anymore courses, can the secruity certs be passed through self studying and a ton of reading, The A+ net+ and linux + seemed fairly easy, i will be getting my comptia security +, as far as the other exams, does anyone have any advice on the best way to be prepared.
Thanks Patrick

I hated vista when i first got it on my laptop, however i have learned to like it, in a couple of years vista will be a dominant os, like others have said i strongly suggest you upgrade to at least 2 gb of ram to avoid a sluggish system, i have gone back and forth about 5 times, and i think im gonna stick with it this time just to learn it inside and out, good luck.
