Took a quick look through the forum the operator is posting in. He seems to be asking for free help tracking the thief and recovering the $$ from a pool of PISSED OFF users. Best of luck with that.

I found the lesson on nmap to be interesting, then VERY interesting, then suddenly I lost interest and took a nap.

Whenever I read anything about bitcoins, its always begins something like "Joe had $1,500 in bitcoins.... before they were all stolen without a trace."

There must be some limit on how many students are allotted lab time at the same time, otherwise you would bump into each other all over the place. Do they tell you what that limit is?

Being careful is hard, and takes time .

versus

Companies need to release products into the marketplace in a timely manner.

I think security will be on the losing side of that balancing act for years to come.

Congrats!

If you have time, please do post something about your experience with the course. I'm evaluating potential course offerings myself and would appreciate anything you could share.

Just to clarify on lab time, once they let you loose in the lab, your timer starts ticking 24/7 and stops only when your 30/60/90 days are up? No hitting "pause"? So its not "connected to the lab and working" time, its "you have this block of days allotted"

I am seriously considering this course and want to be sure I take it at the right time. My wife and kids like to see me occasionally too.

That is good to know, I was concerned that their lab environment would like something I could setup at home, just with more VM's running on better hardware or something.

Is getting through firewalls, managed switches, VLANS, IDS's and the like included? How realistic is this environment?

Do the servers contain any data that assists you exploiting other systems? Lists of usernames, fake company info, docs, browser history, cookies, etc.. or are just a clean image a server OS with patches missing or hackable services running? Does a hashdump on one help you on others?

I read the info in the link, it says to format with FAT32. Read the instructions m0wgli provided, it really looks like your solution is in there.

Yeah it's formatted as NTFS, but i even try to install Fedora on HD but i just keep getting unable to install also no enough space but the space is more than enough  cause it said it can't partition the HD, i guess i would have to get external HDD, but when the HD still on NTFS when i use program like YUMI everything would be fine .

Your external HD isn't formatted as NTFS is it?
