Can anyone recommend some good books for windows or Linux.

Like admin guides I have a good understanding of both but want to gig deeper.

In the context of what Jamie.R has asked for, this is a good resource for securing Linux from an Administrator's perspective.

I already have hacking exposed linux its great book but those resources which u introduced are well too

If you really want to dig deep into Windows, you can't go wrong with the Windows Internals Series by Mark Russinovich:

The single most useful book I had when learning to be a Linux system admin (Unix admin too) was the second edition of this book:
