Title: New Version of Hacking for Dummies Post by: chrisj on January 21, 2010, 02:55:55 PM Version 3 is out now, I'm curious if anyone else has read it yet. I just got my copy today, but haven't have had time to make it past the table of contents. I've read version 2 via Safari Books, but got 3 to have a physical book on my shelf.
I was a little surprised to see NetWare still in the table of contents. I'm wondering what other surprises await. Title: Re: New Version of Hacking for Dummies Post by: don on January 21, 2010, 10:23:16 PM Just added Hacking for Dummies (http://www.amazon.com/dp/0470550937?tag=thedigitalcon-20&camp=0&creative=0&linkCode=as1&creativeASIN=0470550937&adid=11002ZDTQ9XGGF3S27N9&) to the EH-Net Amazon Store.
Who's interested in reviewing this? Don Title: Re: New Version of Hacking for Dummies Post by: chrisj on January 22, 2010, 09:23:21 AM I'd offer, but I'm a slow reader (between 200 and 300 words a minute, back to pre-speed reading course levels) and have a lot of time constraints right now.
*Edit* Actually, I really would like to review the book. But it'll probably take me 2 weeks to get through it if that's okay. *end edit* Title: Re: New Version of Hacking for Dummies Post by: alucian on January 22, 2010, 05:50:49 PM By the way,
Is it someone that succeeded any course of rapid reading? Title: Re: New Version of Hacking for Dummies Post by: chrisj on February 08, 2010, 03:56:24 PM One thing I have to say about the book after just over 3 weeks is that I'm surprised it isn't holding up better.
I have several books I have to carry around for work right now (mostly reference guides), so I carry them all in the same box (printer paper style box). All 4 of the outer corners (furthest from the spine) have separated and I've taken to gluing them back down. I noticed the first one yesterday. I've spotted the other three corners today doing the same thing. I know I'm rough on things but the 2 note books, 2 Cisco books, Sec + book, Hacking the Next Generation, magazines, and shell scripting book aren't having any issues.
