Title: Women subpoena's identity of anonymous web poster Post by: former33t on July 05, 2009, 09:29:05 PM You all may have already heard about this, but it was a first heard for me. Apparently someone made a baseless claim about a woman featured in a news story who was kicked out of a mall for wearing "inappropriate" clothing. The poster claimed that the woman had in fact exposed herself to mall patrons and their children. The woman at the center of the story has sued the host of the online forum for the identity of the poster, no doubt to file a defamation suit. Just shows how important security and compliance is, even in the case of something as benign as a web forum.
