I have started my OSCP however I would like to know from ex-students that what is the best approach to go through the course . First I should watch all the videos and make notes and then go though the lab guide along with VPNing into the remote labs . or I should watch videos along with Lab manual at the same time topic by topic . ??

I would say watch the videos along with the lab manual... there is a time limit for lab usage unless you request more lab time and add another fee.  If you get stuck there's always the IRC and forum to help assist your questions.

so what is this forum http://forums.offensive-security.com/index.php  and how are the two different? There seems to be no one on this forum (the one I just posted).

Brucel,

the remote-exploit forums cover all things BackTrack. The Offensice Security forums are related to the OffSec training courses. If you take one of their courses you'll find the forums more useful.

Hope this helps clear up some confusion.

I Think it's: http://forums.offensive-security.com/

If memory servers you need to register, then get your account verified (Ziplock usually handles this I believe) once you're enrolled on the course to get access to the course specific boards. Been a while since I used them though so apologises if I'm off the mark.

<update: just remembered by forum credentials, for once my memory was correct  ::) >
