OSWP-> Offensive Security Wireless Profession. this both certs so important and are of so high value, It is one of the best course any one can take,  It challengs you to think and learn new skills and more creative way of securing  digital boundries.
 The topics cover everything from Back Track basics to all sorts exploits and  HXDEF rootkit.
well OSCP's cert  the Offensive Security 101 course  is not quite on the list of any recruiters or any other company who recruit security guys. Which is  a shame. Unlike the CISSP and almost every other certification that I know of or heard, this both certification make you nerves heat up and think and runs your lazy brain packets and takes you for a ride for 24hrs where the final lab exam ends . Belive if you have OSCP and OSWP certs you are more forward than any other blah blah certifications...

I've yet to talk to someone on here who holds the OSWP certification but I'd definitely would like to hear reviews about that course. I'll also second that it's a shame that they're both not really recognized in the industry because I hear both are damn good and provide you with a lot of knowledge...[Neo fix the name of the thread, you have the OSC & OSWP Certification]

thank u kirs, i have changed it, yeah as more and more people will come to know abt the OSWP the more knowledge spreads , only then i hope that those coroporate guys might think off adding it, yeah even me yet to know the reviews of it .....

I am thinking about doing the online Pentesting with Backtrack course and possibly going after OSCP certification.   I wish I was able to do the live classroom training, but I don't think my boss will pay for it.   Does anyone know what the maintenance is like for the certification?   Is it the usual 40 hours of CPEs per year, or are you required to re-certify periodically?

Thanks, but I can't seem to find the maintenance information.   Does anyone know if you have to re-certify periodically like an IT Vendor cert, or is it CPEs you have to maintain like most security certs?

I went ahead and queried Offensive Security in niggards to maintenance of the credential and this was there response.

There is no maintenance for our certification.

Our students can purchase new versions (when available) of the course in reduce fees but they don't have do.

I have done the OSCP and just could not get enough of it, I was like my son in a candy store it was just so much fun. It is the only certification that I have done the exam twice just because it is such a great challenge and I passed both times. I have been at my current job for about a year and in my interview they had researched the OSCP certification and were impressed that I had it.

Congrats!  Just got back from being out of the country and spent my time reading up on the plane.  After reading everyones posts about these courses, I am looking to take this course soon.  Looking at my schedule and checking to make sure nothing is coming up that may hinder this fantastic journey!

today just i was playing with Backtrack 4 beta ,then i tried to check that if my wireless cardwas able to inject for testing WEP ,i tried with the default drivers in Bt4 but it was not working and unable to inject using its default drivers, so then i took few minutes to patch the injection drivers and thaught to make small how to so that it will be easy for others

2)rmmod r8187 rtl8187 2>/dev/null

I took the Offensive Security 101 course late 2007 and it was excellent.
The price performance ratio is unbeatable. The only other classes that come close are the SANS courses, but their prices are three times as much.
So I am planning on taking both OSCP and OSWP during 2009.
