Title: April foolz Post by: iSmith on March 25, 2008, 05:47:47 PM hey dudes, what's on the cards for april fool's?
1 tape inside a ball mouse. too bad we don't have any of these. :( 2 bsod screensaver likely. ::) 3 fake desktop. probably. ::) 4 "delete C:\ " apps hmmm... ::) 5 boot-up 'error' good idea. :) you all got any other good ideas? ??? Title: Re: April foolz Post by: eth3real on March 25, 2008, 07:03:50 PM If your workstations aren't locked down, or bound to specific ethernet ports on a switch, move a few around. This is especially hilarious if you switch two people on opposite ends of a building. :D
Title: Re: April foolz Post by: g00d_4sh on March 25, 2008, 07:39:34 PM Ohh, you mean moving the specific boxes? I guess when they log in and can't find their 'My docs", or rather the My Docs are empty they'd be pissed... but unfortunately the helpdesk staff... and me in turn would hear the whinning about that. My office has motion detectors at each desk hooked up to the surge protectors... to help 'save energy' or some shit. (Somehow I just happened to miss out on getting one of those 'amazing' devices.). Now leaving the little motion detector barely unplugged from the surge protector and listening to someone curse since their computer 'won't work' sounds more appealing than moving a box around. That... or pulling off a key on the keyboard, and using some wadded up paper under the re-inserted key to keep the button 'down' even when it's not so the computer screams at them is an even more devius and evil work station attack. Not that.... I've every done that... to any fellow IT... >> Nope, I would never do that to someone's 80$ keyboard they keep bragging about.
Title: Re: April foolz Post by: eth3real on March 25, 2008, 09:14:34 PM April Fool's Month?
Annoy-a-tron (http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/8c52/) I'm still not sure if this crosses the line between funny and evil. Title: Re: April foolz Post by: davekoob on March 26, 2008, 11:38:16 AM We had an Annoy-a-tron in our office for about a month...
Hilarity ensued... DEFINITELY worth the $10... Heck get 3 or 4... Title: Re: April foolz Post by: iSmith on March 26, 2008, 06:29:24 PM here is my 'project'. just leave the command prompt on fullscreen, and place the file in the startup directory. stand back and laff your heart out. ;D

Title: Re: April foolz Post by: rance on March 31, 2008, 03:09:56 PM If your workstations aren't locked down, or bound to specific ethernet ports on a switch, move a few around. This is especially hilarious if you switch two people on opposite ends of a building. :D I actually like to launch word, change to the largest font possible that'll still display the following: "I AM A POLICY VIOLATOR!" Then lock the workstation and walk away. I'll either save that file to the hard drive, or create another one that says "This could have been a keystroke logger!" and save it somewhere, and throw it in the startup group. Although, I've been recently banned from doing this anymore, because "policy" states the only action one should take on an unlocked workstation that isn't their own is to lock it. Although, there's a guy in my row that does the ctrl-alt-del, and leaves it there without locking (this avoids having to unlock, and can stay in this state past the screensaver time, etc). So, I'll just walk by and press "W" so he has to log in when he gets back. Ahhh... users. Title: Re: April foolz Post by: don on April 01, 2008, 04:07:47 PM Check out this blog post from PC Mag:

People were walking from one department to the next trying to find an open bathroom. Title: Re: April foolz Post by: pseud0 on April 01, 2008, 08:56:58 PM I convinced the guys in the remote-exploit and offsec channels that I was don, and then proceeded to challenge them to hack the ethicalhacker.net server. They weren't really into until I said that one thing about that one guys mom.
