It makes me wish I hadn't already bought a Nokia 770. Title: Re: asus Eee PC thoughts and opinions? Post by: eth3real on February 29, 2008, 04:36:04 PM I got one of these earlier this month.
Is anyone else using one, yet? It is quite an impressive little machine. I use it as my main computer at home, and a little bit at work. Title: Re: asus Eee PC thoughts and opinions? Post by: oleDB on March 03, 2008, 09:54:44 AM Those little laptops are all the rage now ....
The perfect little pen test box, outside of that though, I wouldn't get one for personal everyday use Check out this, for the backtrack users http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/260/1/ Title: Re: asus Eee PC thoughts and opinions? Post by: eth3real on March 03, 2008, 10:44:44 AM I don't use it for anything that requires serious computing...
Apparently the solid state drive that it comes with is only good for about 100,000 write cycles, so it is not good for compiling. I do use it for every day stuff, like taking notes, checking the Ethical Hacker Network forums ;D , and watching movies. With a USB DVD drive, I can use my normal live CDs like BackTrack and Helix. This is a really great wardriving laptop. It's funny to turn on Airodump-ng or Kismet and drive through neighborhoods to see how many people have insecure wireless APs. I sometimes do this on my way home from work just to see how many I pick up. It sits nicely on my dashboard without sliding. :P Thanks for that BackTrack link, oleDB!
