Title: EH-Net Version of BackTrack 2

This is just about done, thanks to all of the hard work by Muts of Offensive Security. He's been kind enough to put up with my last minute changes, but he assures me this will be good to go in the next day or 2.

Our goal of having a version of BT2 with Metasploit 3 that is packaged as a VMware Virtual Appliance has been attained!! ;D

This DL will be upwards of 950 MB. We could use some help with mirrors and torrent servers. Please PM me if you can help.

Great news! Even if you don't have space/bandwidth to host this you can still help distribute it. For those of you who use bittorrent to download this, please try to leave it running after the download has completed. The more seeders there the better.

Let me know when you're ready to torrent it. I will keep seeding it for months.... I will even stop all the other torrent seeds I have running for EH-Net. ;D

Awesome. It is ready, but since ChicagoCon is next week, I figure I would at least give the attendees first stab at it. I'll release to all of you very soon afterwards.

This is what I have been looking for, for a while. This is great. I almost want to go to Chicago next week to get it sooner. Either way I will help seed for a while when the time comes! Thank you and very much looking forward to it.

Whats the big deal? Am I missing something here? Making your own VMware Virtual Appliance is very basic stuff, people! If you dont know how, you better learn.

The big deal is that this is a custom version of BackTrack 2 for EH-Net and will include some various tool features/upgrades not included in the current version of BT2.

I guess thats a big deal for someone that doesn't know how to upgrade or add tools to this distro. The entire purpose of using slax was the ease of adding modules to a live cd. Now dont get me wrong, it is always fun and interesting to check out what someone else put together. You just dont want to be stuck with it because of a lack of skill. Being able to customize, tweek and change things is what a hacker is all about.

Yup, agreed. They even include instructions on adding modules to BackTrack in their Offensive Security course.

it was on the DVD that all the attendees got. i think don is working on getting the presentation materials, audio, and VMware appliance uploaded.
