Title: ethicalhacker.net IRC channel? Post by: jimbob on August 16, 2007, 05:18:53 PM Hi,
Is it worth setting up an IRC channel for members of this site e.g. #ethicalhacker on freenode? I don't want a chat room to take away from the forums here, but it would be nice to get some more interaction with some of the other members and share ideas. Jimbob Title: Re: ethicalhacker.net IRC channel? Post by: Kev on August 16, 2007, 05:26:22 PM Interesting idea. Maybe try it for a few weeks and see if it takes off?
Title: Re: ethicalhacker.net IRC channel? Post by: BillV on August 16, 2007, 05:39:05 PM Yeah, I'd be up for that as well. I know ChrisG had posted about an IRC channel/server elsewhere as well, but I know I for one was banned right when I joined :P
I typically sit on irc.cyberarmy.net and I'm sure they'd have no problem with having a channel on their network either. Title: Re: ethicalhacker.net IRC channel? Post by: Manu Zacharia (-M-) on August 16, 2007, 05:58:53 PM Yes, I too support this.
Chat4all ( http://chat4all.org/)allows you to register free IRC channel on their servers. I am running an IRC channel (irc://irc.chat4all.org/theadmins) for my site The Admins (www.theadmins.info) through chat4all. I think it's the right time for the EH-Net IRC Channel. Title: Re: ethicalhacker.net IRC channel? Post by: don on August 17, 2007, 06:25:43 PM Well wait a minute. Am I not the sad one because I hang out with all of you too much? Now you want more of my time? ???
Ohhhhhhh... OK. ;) Let me look into it, and we'll get something going. I'm always one to please the masses. Actually, all kidding aside, great idea. Don Title: Re: ethicalhacker.net IRC channel? Post by: LSOChris on August 17, 2007, 06:32:44 PM don we just want your "idle" time
Title: Re: ethicalhacker.net IRC channel? Post by: pseud0 on November 18, 2007, 06:29:45 PM Was there ever an IRC chatroom setup?
Title: Re: ethicalhacker.net IRC channel? Post by: don on November 18, 2007, 08:21:41 PM No. Not yet. I promise to have something soon. One of those low priority items, but if the people have spoken, so be it.
I'm such a slacker, Don Title: Re: ethicalhacker.net IRC channel? Post by: BillV on November 19, 2007, 07:24:02 AM I can get in now, just had to wait for that ban to get removed :) There's usually not many people there so I don't stay too long
Title: Re: ethicalhacker.net IRC channel? Post by: pseud0 on November 19, 2007, 07:49:25 AM I'm lurking on cyberarmy's servers for now.
Title: Re: ethicalhacker.net IRC channel? Post by: LSOChris on November 19, 2007, 08:37:00 AM LSO runs all of our rootwars off this irc server so we idle here until i get off my butt and stand up out own silc box.
any good channels on the cyberarmy server or is it just one channel? Title: Re: ethicalhacker.net IRC channel? Post by: pseud0 on November 19, 2007, 12:23:36 PM The most I've seen is a couple of dozen channels. At any point in time about 5 or so have 20+ people. The main channel seems to be 50+ most of the time.
Title: Re: ethicalhacker.net IRC channel? Post by: BillV on November 19, 2007, 12:33:37 PM Yeah, the main CA channel is where most discussion (if any) happens. The others are mostly brigade-related. There are a couple of other networks that are linked with CA as well.
